Welcome to Pollok…Gerry McLauchlan

Pollok FC can confirm the signing of former Queens Park player, Gerry McLauchlan.

The 30 year old centre back made over 30 appearances for ‘The Spiders’ last year and has previous senior experience with Brechin, Ayr Utd, Arbroath, Queen of the South and Cowdenbeath.

‘Lok gaffer Murdie Mackinnon was delighted to bolster his defence for the forthcoming campaign;

“Gerry is good capture for the club and is very experienced. We needed a bit of competition and depth at centre back, which we saw towards the end of the season when we played two full backs at centre half. We had a good defensive record last year but there’s always room for improvement.”

Gerry already has links to Pollok as his father (also Gerry) was assistant manager to Jim George between 1992 and 1995.

Welcome to Pollok…Iain Russell

Pollok Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of striker, Iain Russell.

Russell, who spent the last 18 months with Dumbarton, has scored 199 senior goals in his career during spells with Rangers, Motherwell, Brechin, Morton, Alloa, Stirling, Livingston, Queen of the South, Airdrie and Dumbarton.

A delighted Murdie MacKinnon had this to say on Pollok’s third new face of pre season;

“Iain is a vastly experienced striker and he brings goals to the squad as well as an ability to open up defences. He’s got a terrific scoring record, is well respected and he’s another coup for the club”

Iain, the grandson of Scotland and Rangers Hall of Famer and Airdrie honorary president Iain McMillan, will be with the squad when they return to pre season training next week.
